Commanders draft tracker: Washington addresses secondary needs on Day 3


In Coach Ron Rivera’s first two drafts in Washington, he addressed team needs early and depth late, favoring speed and position flexibility to build a well-rounded team before betting big on a franchise quarterback.

Now, in his third draft, Rivera seems to be following the same blueprint. After trading the No. 11 pick to the New Orleans Saints for the No. 16, 98 (third round) and 120 (fourth) picks in Thursday’s first round, Washington selected Penn State’s Jahan Dotson, a slight, speedy, sure-handed receiver.
